Zombie

A zombie in Voodoo witchcraft is a mindless, soulless corpse brought back to life by a Voodoo priest.

Some people believe there is a logical explanation for this and that a zombie was possibly a person buried alive, who appeared dead and a doctor had made an error, or they had drunk poison to ensure they ended up in a death like state.

A Voodoo priest or Bocor, is able to awaken the zombie by feeding the zombie drugs, who is so traumatised after their ‘living hell’ they obey whatever is asked of them.

Voodoo sorcerers are believed to capture the souls of the deceased and make the zombie walk the astral plane, externally obeying the sorcerers every command. To prevent this from happeing relatives of the dead have been known to decapitate corpses.
